Painted Present

My parents went to Boston about a month ago to visit my brother, his wife & their little one. I found the Noah's Ark boat (unfinished) at a second hand toy shop across the street from our studio. (one of Luca's favorite hang outs) I knew when I saw it- it would be a perfect quick project for my Dad & I. He like me loves to paint so we spend a few hours pulling this together. Over the last 5 1/2 years I've made & sold lots of Noah's Ark art. I'm showing one today I don't think I've posted before. (I lose track sometimes....) Anyhow, our painted present was a hit & I nice evening spent with my Dad painting. *The top of the boat lifts up like a lid with more animals inside.

The end of January...

Every year around this time I get spring fever. Tired of the gray I find myself needing to pull out my favorite knick knacs, buying myself tulips, wearing brighter colors anything that helps me remember that I will see signs of spring soon. I found this piece I worked on years ago in my sketchbook- it was kind of a deconstructed still life of some of my favorite things. I use to date everything in my sketch book & I laughed when I saw it- January 15th 2004. Some things don't change like my need to surround myself with pretty colorful things this time of year.

F: is for FRIDAY

Hello- sorry for a bit of an absence. I like to post a regularly as possible but as we all know life can get hectic. Antonio returned from Heimtextile last Monday & we left the following morning for a client visit in NY, back to it know with book & bedding deadlines.(keeping busy is my peace of mind) That said... I couldn't be happier it's Friday! Looking forward to some unpacking, tiding up & some family time this weekend. The alphabet I'm showing today was part of a scrap booking collection that Liz & I put together. She worked on this one & I love it!

Mommy & Me Time

This morning Antonio headed off to Frankfurt Germany to show the collection at Heimtextile. A whole week without him. I'm going to miss him. I always think a little distance is good it kind of resets my appreciation for someone. He's Mr. Mom during the day. We bring Luca to the studio & he lovingly guides him through the day with activities, snacks & a nap. This week it's my turn to give Luca some special Mommy time. (along with Antonio's sister Pamela who's flown in to help out because the deadlines march on...) Like most two year olds he's got tons of energy. I've planned some fun outings & I'm looking forward to our week together.

Finding color in all this white outside isn't easy. I have noticed the birds really stand out. Thank You my brightly colored feathered friends. Until the next post stay warm!
