Animal Hats

Snow has melted- Yipppeeee!  Today I tried the animal hats I made on Luca & Dominique
(The little girl of the lovely woman who watches Luca for us 2 x a week.  She's helping him learn Spanish)  As you can see I need to work on the fit a bit more.   It's made from a recycled felt and the back is adjustable similar to a baseball cap.  After we took the photo they decided to keep the hats on which was a nice surprise.

Oh NO SNOW!

Happy Friday.  Today's post some flowers on a quirky olive ground.
We're expecting 10 + inches of snow tomorrow.  So I'm heading outside after work to cut any blooms I can find.  Hope the snow is a NO show....

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today is St. Patrick's Day and Liz and I have been working all day. So today's post is a picture of a lovely green flower that is growing in the studio's yard. It is also one of the first flowers that has bloom this spring. Yeah, Spring is here!

I also wanted to show this picture below of my favorite car at the car show last week. It looks a lot like Cruella DeVill's car. And by the way, Cruella's song is one of Luca's favorite songs to dance to.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hello BABY!

Having a great weekend hope you are too!  I just realized that this is my 150 post.  Wow- hope it's inspiring to see some of my work.  I know I enjoy having a format to share.  I was out and about yesterday  & it seemed like there were babies everywhere.  (must be something in the water)  Between friends & family (my brother/sister-n-law) bringing all this new life to the world there's so much to look forward too!  The whole thing got me thinking more about how beautiful family & new additions really are.  When most are feeling the need to pair back it's so comforting to have what you really need right before you.  For me becoming a Mom has helped me slow down, focus, open up, nurture, believe in magic again, persevere, know my strength, become more patient, find even more wonderful qualities in Antonio and enjoy the little adventure in everyday.

Moving Right Along

So I promised something not so girly today.  Here it is.  Some recent Transportation art (wall art + growth chart available through Oopsy Daisy)  With a little man in the house we've taken a real liking to all things with an engine. (the big weekend plan is the car show with Luca, Antonio & my Dad all car lovers)  This was the usual drill a bit of painting (gauche & acrylic) a little collage & some digital work on top.

Spring Anyone...

Yipppeee, it's a beautiful early spring day here.  On our walk to the studio we noticed bits of vibrant green starting to pop out of the ground.  Luca has discovered his shadow (which he can't miss in the early morning light)  He's amazed by his this tag along dark form.  Perfect opportunity to introduce him to shadow animals.  OK- on to the art.  So feeling happy & like a breath of fresh air today I thought I'd show a spring series.  This was painted (gauche), some collage and some final digital touches.  Hope it puts a little spring in your step.  I know I've been on a major lightt pink kick lately I promise the next post won't be pink!

French Get-Away...

I've been daydreaming about a little late winter getaway. Antonio loved his trip to France last October & can't wait to go back next year. (I'll be accompanying him this time!) I've not been to Paris yet but I can hardly wait. Revisiting some of his enchanting photos & bringing to mind all the things that pop in my head when I think of France I came up with this. My favorite is the couple lost in the city of love. (hopeless romantic- I guess)
